I became active in Scientology in 1971, when I had already had two failed marriages, by the age of 29. I had a knack of always choosing the wrong partner and through Scientology counseling I found out exactly why I was choosing the wrong type of person for me.
Now I've had a successful marriage, using and applying Scientology for twenty four years.
Let me tell you my story.
I quit high school at 17 because I wanted to get married and become a mother and housewife.
My first marriage lasted 4 1/2 years with one premature birth (the baby died) and two miscarriages.
My husband during this time was a decent fellow. He wasn't a chaser or drinker. But, it was like being married to a robot. He had no drive, no ambition and even though I was very introverted I knew I could amount to more in life than I could see just then in my future.
The real breaking point was when I found the next man. He had all the qualities I thought my husband lacked. At the time I could see no way out of my existing marriage other than just getting divorced.
The next guy was the man-about-town. (Eventually I learned that he was not only a man-about-town, but an alcoholic and womanizer.) Parts of that marriage were very exciting, but, again, I could see that there was no future there for me. I had no way of handling this, except, another divorce.
Then I took up with another guy. This time I decided to NOT get married, but that didn't prevent the relationship from going sour. This time, still very introverted, and wanting to please my new man, I went into agreement with him on drugs.
During these years I had a job in the entertainment industry. I saw all of the glamour, but I also saw a lot of drugs.
I began to see that, again, I was on the road to nowhere. There was no dramatic ending to this relationship, but we just decided to go our separate ways.
Mostly, I wanted out of the drug scene.
I was able to just stop the drugs. I think that many people today seem to have a harder time just quitting.
I had always known that I was a spiritual being. I never believed that I just lived once, so one day I heard of a lecture about "Have You Lived Before This Life?"
That was right up my alley!
At that lecture I learned that it was Scientology, and I'd never heard of that. I found it very interesting and decided to take one of the courses they talked about -- the Communication Course.
From the Communication Course I realized that Scientology was a way to understand myself better, and why I had made such crazy choices over the previous 18 years.
Through the counseling I got later, I completely understood why I had made such harmful choices in my earlier years.
I also became much more outgoing and confident I could accomplish the goals I had set out for my life.
I met my current husband when we were both students on a course at the Church of Scientology, Celebrity Centre, in Los Angeles, California.
We've now had more than 24 years of happy marriage.
In the early years of our marriage three of my husband's children came to live with us and I got the opportunity to be a "mother."
I now have 14 grandchildren.
My husband and I have a home-based mail-order vitamin business which uses the administrative technology developed by Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. I have friends and customers all over the world I often talk to them about Scientology.
You can call me on my toll free number if you wish.
I really credit Scientology with my accomplishments. I know that when I apply the technology developed by Mr. Hubbard it just makes things go better.
