If you want to find out more about Dianetics and Scientology, the best way to do this is to read an L. Ron Hubbard book on the subject. I personally recommend you read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.
This book really helped me with understanding the trials of life and the mechanics of the mind. I come from a mechanical engineering background and have a very practical viewpoint on things. With Dianetics I found something practical and workable that made sense and seemed to fit quite easily what I could see around me in life.
